Who is the Reedy Creek Title I teaching team????

CHRISTINE RAHN

I have been a Title I Reading Specialist at Reedy Creek Elementary for several years. I have worked with students in kindergarten, second grade, third grade, and fourth grade. This year I am excited to be working with third, fourth, and fifth grade reading students! Prior to coming to Reedy Creek I taught reading at Cary Elementary and Farmington Woods. I started my career as a second grade teacher in Sanford, NC. In May 2011, I was honored to receive "The Cary Rotary Club: Service Above Self Teaching Award".

In my free time I love to spend time with my dog Lucy, volunteer with the dogs at the SPCA of Wake County, volunteer with the SPCA Pit Crew (I love pit bulls!), read books, take Lucy for long walks/hikes, hang out with my friends, and watch HGTV!

I am looking forward to another great year in Title I!!!!!!

JESSICA FITTS

I am excited to be working with your 3rd-5th grade readers this year! I arrived at Reedy Creek over 3 years ago as a second grade teacher and have been working as a Title I Reading Specialist for over 2 years. Prior to arriving in North Carolina I was a first grade, second grade, and Reading Recovery teacher in New York state. I love reading and hope to help you child develop his or her own love of reading throughout the year.

Outside of school I am wrapping up a busy year that includes a move, wedding, and wonderful Hawaiian honeymoon. I love to travel and have been fortunate to have seen much of the United States, as well as a few European Countries. I look forward to a wonderful year of Reading at The Creek!

Diane Daughtry

I am very pleased to be a part of this excellent title 1 literacy team. During my twenty-five years of teaching, I have had the opportunity to teach in high school, middle, elementary and pre-school. Yes, I love all ages of children! I knew when I was six and read my first Dr. Seuss book that reading was going to be an important part of my life. For the next twelve years I spent my summers in the public library in High Point, N.C. When I'm not reading, you can find me at UNC-Chapel Hill attending football and basketball games with my husband, son, and daughter. Yes, we are all Tarheels! I enjoy working with your children and hope to instill in them that love of reading that was passed to me by my first grade teacher, Mrs. McCall. I can't wait to see as Dr. Seuss says, "All the places we'll go!"

Sandy Mueller - Math Intervention

I am happy to be working at Reedy Creek this year as a math intervention teacher. I serve grades K-5 in math intervention with long and short term students in a small group setting. I have two boys, one at Western Carolina, and one at Holly Springs High School. Both are marching band members so that keeps us busy all fall. I also enjoy reading, gardening, and cooking, as well as playing with our two rescue dogs, which are lab mixes. I look forward to another great year here at Reedy Creek!
